Sandwich Bay, located on the east shore line of Thanet’s coast, is a beautiful bay and feels very rural. The drive down takes you through country roads and completely away from civilisation, except for the port in the distance. Sandwich Bay is a favourite with locals, and moreover, it’s great for chasing PBs thanks to the strong kickers. However, please read the full guide since there are unusual costs linked to accessing the bay.

Local Knowledge:
“Works best +-2hours of high water or when the sand has been exposed at the bottom of the shingle bank. Can be quite a shore dump, so sometimes best to body drag out and set off.
The National Nature reserve and the protected area of Shell Haven start around 1km north of The LODGE and this should be avoided. Best conditions NE/SE.
Beware of wooden protrusions from wrecks exposed at low water, particularly directly in front of The Lodge”
How To Use The Bay
