Deal, a town just down from Sandwich, has a wide stone bay. The beach has a big shelf so gets deep very quickly. Along the beaches there are a lot of boats. The bay is not a top choice for kiting but Deal is known for being a nice quiet town and so you can expect to have plenty of space if you choose to kite here.

Local Knowledge:
“Watch out for the Groynes and water depth across the bay. There are shell beds that can mislead you in to thinking it’s deeper than it is. Be careful getting blown down wind to Reculver, it’s a long reef covered walk back. Tide cuts the bay off 2 hours either side of high tide. Also watch out for the sea wall. This is a great beginner spot. Lots of lessons happen on this beach”
The beach can be access straight from the road. There are often people walking on the promenade and hanging out on the beach so make sure you are careful about where you set up to launch. Additionally there are a lot of boats that can act as obstacles as well as the pier.
